At the opening ceremony, Professor Meng Man of Minzu University of China and Sun Yang, host of Beijing Radio and Television Station, were appointed as the new Beijing Eco-Environment Public Welfare Ambassadors. It will shoot ecological environmental protection promotional videos, participate in ecological environmental protection theme activities, exert its own influence, spread the concept of ecological civilization, drive more citizens to practice green and low-carbon life, and jointly cheer for a beautiful Beijing.

Since 2013, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment has appointed Beijing Eco-Environment Public Welfare Ambassador for 23 consecutive years, and <> outstanding representatives from various industries, including He Kebin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, actor Wang Lei, and diving Olympic champion Gao Min, have joined the ranks of Beijing Eco-environment Public Welfare Ambassadors, becoming an important force to promote public participation.

Focusing on the theme of "Building a Modernization in Harmony with Nature", this year's Environmental Culture Week focused on launching 14 online and offline ecological and environmental theme publicity and public participation activities.

On 6 June, World Environment Day, the highlight of the Environmental Culture Week, the main event in Beijing will be held in Cuihu National Urban Wetland Park in Haidian District. At that time, representatives of ecological and environmental volunteers, citizen representatives and heads of relevant units will gather together to carry out in-depth exchanges on "building a modernization in which man and nature live in harmony".

This year's Environmental Culture Week will also hold the final of the "I Love Earth Mama" Beijing Primary and Middle School Students' Ecological and Environmental Protection Speech Competition. At that time, 46 primary and secondary school students who have been selected by the city and district levels will vividly tell their ecological and environmental protection stories and publish children's environmental protection declarations around the theme of "My Story with Nature". Beijing Municipal Ecological Environmental Protection Publicity Center will work with Fengtai District Education Commission and Fengtai District Ecological Environment Bureau to jointly carry out ecological environment education into the classroom. Teachers and students from more than 100 schools in Fengtai District will listen to the story of "Landscape Beijing Bay" through offline and "cloud classrooms", and cultivate the concept of ecological civilization that respects and protects nature.
