Biologist and agronomist Mikhail Vorobyov believes that the growth in sales of strawberries and cherries may be associated with an increase in sown and planting areas.
"If the sown and planting areas were increased, then the harvest also increased, which means that we have more of these products on the shelves. As for the grapes, they are now all imported. Most likely, it is brought from the southern hemisphere, where it is now, in general, autumn. Obviously, if people eat cherries now, they are unlikely to eat grapes. Therefore, it is not in demand and it is imported less, "Vorobyov said.
He also believes that in the near future the demand for berries will not decrease.
"In the summer, we always stock up on vitamins. And we eat them, and freeze them, and cook jam. Therefore, the demand for strawberries, cherries and cherries (in the summer months. - RT) will not decrease. Blueberries are likely to increase demand.
