Together with her children, Carolin Walter was on her way to her nephew's confirmation in Germany over the weekend. Then the train derailed.

"We were almost there. There was a bang. My first thought was that a wheel or something had broken," she says.

67 people were on board the Arlanda Express train. Two people were slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital. Carolin Walter and her children escaped without injury.

"It shook a lot where we sat, at the back it was probably much worse. The train attendant went through the train and asked everyone to go to the front. It smelled strong.

Documents obtained by SVT show that there were several known faults on the rails where the train derailed. The police are now investigating the accident as causing danger to others and causing bodily harm.

"There has been a risk for everyone on the train to be seriously injured," says Robert Björk, detective inspector and head of investigation at the police.
