Beijing, June 6 -- From May 1 to June 5, the 31 "I Grow Up with the Motherland" and "June 6" International Children's Day themed performances, co-hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the China Welfare Association and the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, were held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Nearly 1,000 children from Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, Hong Kong and Macao participated in the performance. The program focuses on six chapters: "Shining Memory", "Call from the Heart", "Journey of the Past", "Sincere Wish", "Happy Encounter" and "I Grow Up with the Motherland", and uses various art forms such as stage plays, children's songs and dances, martial arts performances, new Peking Opera arrangements, children's chorus and other art forms to show that contemporary children have a firm desire to serve the country through understanding Chinese history and culture, excellent revolutionary traditions, and national development achievements, and are determined to become newcomers of the era worthy of the task of national rejuvenation.

"I Grow Up with the Motherland" is a brand public welfare project for teenagers, which has been held for 5 consecutive years. This year, 40 children from Qinghai Yushu Children's Welfare Institute were specially invited to watch the performance, expressing the care of all walks of life for the healthy growth of children. The performance will also be broadcast on the National Centre for the Performing Arts Classical Music Channel and several online platforms at 6:3 on June 19. (End)
