Jinan, 5 May (Zhongxin Net) -- The 31th Shandong Provincial Conference of Taiwan Compatriots' Representatives was held in Jinan, Shandong Province from 5 to 29 May. The meeting aimed to deepen the integrated development of the two sides of the strait and promote the spiritual harmony between the two sides of the strait.
Zheng Ping, member of the leading party group and vice president of the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, pointed out during the meeting that settling the Taiwan issue and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland is an unswerving historical task of the CPC, the common aspiration of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese people, and an inevitable requirement for realizing national rejuvenation.
Zheng Ping said that the Taiwan Federation organizations at all levels should actively promote cross-strait nongovernmental exchanges, strive to be confidants and intimate people who Taiwan compatriots can trust, rely on, and cannot do without, and build a "home of Taiwan compatriots" full of affinity, cohesion, and inspiration. It is necessary to focus on strengthening self-construction, create a work force with firm politics, reasonable structure, excellent skills and solid work style, and create more work brands full of family affection and hometown and characteristics of the new era.
Xu Hairong, member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial CPC Committee and director of the United Front Work Department, said that organizations at all levels in Shandong should firmly grasp the correct political direction of the work of the Taiwan Federation and resolutely act as loyal supporters of the "two establishments" and firm practitioners of the "two safeguards." Focus on unity to win the hearts and minds of the people, strengthen patriotic forces, perform duties and responsibilities efficiently, actively explore and innovate, and promote the work of the provincial Taiwan Federation to go ahead and open up a new situation.
Xu Hairong said that Shandong will comprehensively strengthen the construction of the Taiwan Federation itself, give full play to the role of the party and government as a bridge linking Taiwan compatriots, continue to strengthen ideological and political guidance, actively promote economic and cultural exchanges between Lu and Taiwan, and make new and greater contributions to realizing the complete reunification of the motherland and accelerating the construction of a modern socialist province in the new era.
More than 150 people attended the meeting, including members of the leading group of the Ninth Council of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, leaders in charge of the United Front Work Department of various municipal party committees, responsible comrades of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of the Shengli Petroleum Administration, and representatives of Taiwan compatriots throughout the province. The meeting deliberated and adopted the "Constitution (Amendment)" of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, the resolution of the work report of the Ninth Council of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, and the resolution of the <>th Shandong Provincial Conference of Taiwan Compatriots, and elected the <>th Council of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots and its leading body.
