This summer's need for substitutes in the social services department is currently not met. The administration has taken several measures, but they have not had sufficient effect.

"We have carried out campaigns in selected cities in southern Sweden and ensured that those who come from outside have accommodation. We have also agreed on the relocation of the main holiday for all staff, extra shifts and allowances, as well as plans for prioritising efforts. More measures are under way right now," says manager Mona Holmström.

Review routines and prioritization

Due to the staff shortage, the affected operations are reviewing routines and prioritizing tasks. The user's need for food, drink, medicines and personal hygiene is prioritized in the first place.

However, efforts in the daily work may be postponed.

"It is clear that it will be noticeable to the users," says Siv Gunillasson-Sevä.
