• Meteorology Check the weather in Spain

The instability that reigns in recent weeks in the Peninsula continues this Thursday. Thirteen communities continue with yellow warning for heavy rains, storms and sometimes hail that will leave, in more than half of Spain, an accumulated rainfall between 15-35 liters per square meter in an hour.

In the center of the peninsula, Madrid maintains the yellow level throughout the community due to rains and storms - sometimes with hail - that will accumulate 20 liters in an hour, reports the Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which indicates that rainfall, in general, will cover a time slot between 12.00 hours and 21.00 hours.

Castilla-La Mancha has an alert for rains that will leave between 15-20 liters in an hour in all provinces except Ciudad Real, while in Castilla y León the alert affects the entire community for rainfall of 20 liters in one hour.

In the south of the country, the provinces of Almería, Granada and Jaén (Andalusia) remain on alert for rains of 15 liters in one hour, while in the eastern half of the peninsula Aragon, Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia the warning persists for rainfall between 15-30 liters in one hour.

The Balearic archipelago is also with yellow warning for an accumulated rainfall of 35 liters in an hour with locally strong or very strong showers and that may be accompanied by storm and hail.

La Rioja, Navarra and the Basque Country remain in yellow level for storms and rains with an accumulated rainfall of 15-20 liters in one hour, and in the Galician provinces of Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra the accumulations of rain will reach 15 liters per square meter in one hour, with a probability of hail.

Aemet warns that with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is for some specific activity.
