According to the region, the development must be reversed quickly and to achieve this, several investments are now being withdrawn. Initiatives such as subsidised basic vaccination against TBE for adults, the establishment of a maternity clinic LiM and expanded mobile X-rays are proposed to cease on 1 July later this summer. In total, the region expects the measures to save SEK 20 million on a full-year basis.

"In the situation we are in, we need to dare to prioritise and reconsider previous decisions. The money is simply not enough. We will therefore repeal the decision on subsidised basic vaccination TBE for adults, which is new since the turn of the year. We believe that children are prioritized and should continue to be included in the subsidy, but that adults must pay the full price, ie SEK 400 per dose instead of SEK 200 per dose, says Fredrik Sjöstrand (M), chairman of the health and medical care committee in a press release.

In addition, the region is planning a review of co-payments for sick trips. The proposal may mean that the cost of today's SEK 80 may be increased to SEK 120 from January 1 next year.
