Yesterday evening, Tuesday, the winners of the first edition of the "Ramadan Series and Advertising Awards Competition" launched by the management of the creative platform "Creative Summit" were announced after strong competition during the Ramadan marathon for the year 2023.

The series awards included several categories, including acting, writing, directing, music and costumes.

The voting came in two stages, to give more credibility and transparency, according to the organizers of the competition, and to rely mainly on the public vote, where the number of voters reached 110 thousand.

The first phase took place earlier and included voting to choose the best Ramadan advertisements, while the second stage, whose awards were announced yesterday, revolved around soap operas, where it was necessary to wait until the end of the entire month of Ramadan so that the audience has the ability to evaluate the works and form a real impression of them and then vote.

A large number of art stars were keen to attend the ceremony, including director Mohamed Sami, and stars Dina El-Sherbiny, Aya Samaha, Mona Zaki, Jihan Al-Shamacharji, Rakeen Saad and Yasmine Raees.

Among the stars attended Ahmed Daoud, Ahmed Dash, Ahmed Malik, Taha Desouki and Walid Fawaz Ahmed Jamal Saeed, and singers attended Aziz Maraqa and Mustafa Hajjaj.

The absence of some stars

The ceremony witnessed the absence of some of the winners, including the star Mohamed Ramadan, who commissioned director Mohamed Sami to receive the Best Actor Award instead, although he was keen to send a video in which he expressed his happiness with the honor, especially since it came based on a public referendum, but his travel abroad prevented him from attending.

Ahmed Amin was also absent from the ceremony and actor Taha Desouki received the award on his behalf.

Humanitarian gestures

It is noteworthy that the ceremony began with a humanitarian gesture, where the presenters of the ceremony greeted and prayed for mercy for the artist Mustafa Darwish, who passed away suddenly on the first of May, but the most famous event, which quickly became the talk of the hour on social media platforms, is the waiver of the artist Taha Desouki for the award for best emerging actor for the child Omar Sharif, the hero of the series "Under Guardianship".

It is the award presented by the artist Ahmed Daoud and was keen to direct his speech before announcing it to Omar Sharif and shared an old experience about his candidacy (Daoud himself) for a similar award at the beginning of his career and crying when losing, stressing that losing awards does not reduce the size of the star's talent and his best work.

However, Taha Desouki surprised everyone after going up to receive the award, as he announced that he personally voted for the child Omar Sharif because of the intensity of what he liked his role in the series "Under Guardianship" and then gifted him the award, which made the child artist collapse crying and prostrate to God on the stage floor.
