The National Police has arrested in the Tarragona neighborhood of Sant Salvador a fugitive wanted in Morocco for drug trafficking, migrant trafficking, importation of firearms and homicide, on which weighed an international arrest warrant in force issued by his country.

The fugitive was arrested in the framework of a special device deployed for his arrest after investigators learned that he was about to seea second-hand vehicle to obtain immediate liquidity, according to the National Police on Wednesday.

Within the framework of international cooperation against cross-border crime, the National Police received on February 7 a communication requesting the location and arrest of this dangerous fugitive wanted by Interpol, following the search and arrest warrant issued by the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeal of Nador (Morocco).

Specifically, the Moroccan authorities charge this detainee with the crimes of homicide and belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and migrants and illegal importation of firearms.

Once the communication was received, the group of Fugitives of Barcelona of the National Police established a police technical device after detecting that the offender was trying to sell a vehicle through a second-hand buying and selling platform on the internet.

After several surveillances, the man could be located when he showed the vehicle for sale to a third party in ag asolinera of the National-240 neighborhood of Sant Salvador (Tarragona).

The agents, after visually identifying him, quickly proceeded to arrest him, given the danger of the fugitive in view of the crimes he perpetrated.

After his arrest in Sant Salvador, he was placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction number 1.
