"We discussed the localization of production in Ukraine. We agreed to start work on opening an office of BAE Systems in Ukraine, and then facilities for the repair and production of the company's products," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
According to him, Kiev is interested in expanding relations with the British military-industrial complex and would like to make Ukraine a "large regional hub" for the repair and production of BAE Systems products.
As it became known earlier, the German concern Rheinmetall, together with Ukroboronprom, will create an enterprise for the repair and production of tanks in Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that if the plant is built, Russian forces will mark this event with a "salute from Kalibr and other pyrotechnic devices."
