It was on January 28 this year that Roger Pontare drove a car after consuming alcohol. During the day of the trial, a witness was heard who alerted the police, who had been behind the car on the E4 north of Örnsköldsvik and saw how Pontare's car wobbled in the carriageway, drove into a refugee, up a sidewalk and also drove one-way.

Pontare will also receive an alcolock from the Swedish Transport Administration after a trial period. The prosecutor asked for detention for two to three months with an ankle shackle. The verdict in the case is due to be announced on June 7 at 11 a.m.

Not the first time

"I get a chance to continue working on myself, for example, which I have started with. So I think it will be good, says Roger Pontare to SVT Västernorrland.

This is not the first time Pontare has driven under the influence. Already 15 years ago, he lost his driving licence after driving with 0.62 per mille in his blood. The limit for aggravated drunken driving is 1.0 per mille.

In the video you can hear Roger Pontare talk about why he chose to get behind the wheel.
