"I regard these sanctions as a reward. They show that I am not on a leash with the West, like President Maia Sandu. Unlike her, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and other representatives of this regime, I do not serve foreign special services," Shor said.

The politician is convinced that Moldova's European integration leads citizens to bankruptcy and to the rupture of relations with Russia and the CIS.

"Due to the fact that the Europeans forced Sandu to quarrel with Russia, today the inhabitants of Moldova are forced to buy gas and electricity at crazy prices. Food products and services have risen sharply, and the quality of life has deteriorated," the politician said.

On May 30, it became known that the European Union included in the sanctions list five people who were allegedly involved in destabilizing the situation in Moldova. Sanctions were imposed, in particular, against the leader of the Moldovan opposition party "Shor" Ilan Shor, Russian businessman Igor Chaika and Moldovan businessman Vladimir Plahotniuc.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed satisfaction with the EU's decision.
