The government has previously granted Vattenfall's wind farm a permit, 25 kilometres outside Falkenberg, but reminded that a permit is also required under Natura 2000 regulations for the park to be approved.
The wind farm is located near Lilla – och Stora Middelgrund and Röde bank in the Kattegat, which are classified as Natura 2000 areas.
Several conditions for reduced impact
The County Administrative Board has previously granted permission with several conditions, including to reduce the impact on seabirds and porpoises. This was appealed by both the association Birdlife Sweden but also by Vattenfall as the company considered the conditions difficult to fulfil.
The Court has now made some changes to the conditions regarding the protection of harbour porpoises when noisy work in the water is carried out.
One of the four members of the Court dissented.
