It was last year that staff from Ivo (Health and Social Care Inspectorate) showed up unannounced at the beauty clinic BeautyPhi in central Malmö. They discovered that the woman who ran the clinic lacked identification and thus authorization to perform all the injection treatments she offered.

Even the dentist she later said was not there to perform the injections was qualified – his license had been revoked in 2020.

Despite this, they found a large number of syringes and needles and injection ampoules where information about the contents was not in Swedish or English.

Was fined for injections without authorization

Despite the fact that the woman was asked to correct the shortcomings and that she was fined SEK 5,200 for performing treatments without authorization, she continued her activities.

Ivo took the abuses very seriously and decided in November last year to use his sharpest tool – an immediate ban on continuing with the business.

At the same time, she is being investigated by prosecutors for new violations of the so-called beauty law. Last spring, the woman deregistered the company.

SVT pretends to be interested in botox

But when SVT visits the clinic's website and Facebook page at the end of May, it looks like the business is still in full swing. "We have licensed staff who have certificates in injection treatments," it says, among other things.

See how SVT's visit went in the clip above.

When SVT confronts the woman, she says that she is waiting for her ID. This is not true, according to a check at the National Board of Health and Welfare.

Afterwards, the woman writes in the text message that she only acted as a consultant and forwarded customers to authorized staff. SVT has not been able to check if this is true.
