Jiuquan, 5 May (ZXS) -- On 29 May, Dongfeng Space City asked Tiange, and astronauts Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao of the Shenzhou 5 crew made an appearance together to meet with Chinese and foreign reporters.

This is the first flight mission of China's third batch of astronauts, and it is also the "debut" of the "new members" of China's astronaut team - space flight engineers and payload experts. The picture shows the commander Changjing Haipeng. Photo courtesy of China Manned Space Engineering Office

This time, Jing Haipeng will lead the Shenzhou 16 mission crew composed of space pilots, space flight engineers and payload experts to carry out the first manned mission in the application and development stage of the Chinese space station.

This will be Jing Haipeng's 4th flying trip. Having repeatedly set the record for the most flights Chinese, he once again broke his own record.

Many people know Jing Haipeng, which began with the Shenzhou 2008 mission in 9. At 25:21 on September 10 of that year, accompanied by the roar of the rocket, Jing Haipeng, Zhai Zhigang, and Liu Boming entered space on the Shenzhou-3 manned spacecraft. The Shenzhou-<> mission crew successfully completed China's first space out-of-cabin activity, realizing a major leap in China's space technology development.

After returning from the reputation, the first thing Jing Haipeng did was to return to zero results and zero mentality, start everything from scratch, repack and set off again, and return to the best state of always being ready to perform flying missions.

After that, the Shenzhou 2012 and Shenzhou <> missions, Jing Haipeng, who was in excellent condition, served as the commander twice. In the Shenzhou-<> mission in <>, he and his teammates successfully completed China's first manned rendezvous and docking mission, achieving another major breakthrough in China's manned spaceflight.

Four years later, in the Shenzhou 4 mission, Jing Haipeng led astronaut Chen Dong to fly into space together and flew in orbit for 33 days, realizing the medium-term residence of Chinese astronauts in orbit for the first time.

So far, Jing Haipeng has become China's first astronaut on three space tours. "Medal of Meritorious Service in Aerospace of the First Class", "Heroic Astronaut", "Order of August 1st", "Pioneer of Reform" ... Behind the heavy medals is Jing Haipeng's efforts to chase his dream of flying sky again and again.

Some people advised him that "you have achieved fame, and you are almost at the age of knowing the destiny of heaven, the aerospace industry is so risky, there is no need to fight anymore", but he said that as an astronaut, the best way to serve the motherland is to fly, as long as the motherland needs, he will not hesitate to go to space again.

In order to continue to chase his dream of flying, he consciously studied with his young comrades-in-arms, trained together, endured the overload of the centrifuge 8 G, adhered to the same standards, and even made more efforts.

Today, nearly 7 years have passed since the Shenzhou <> mission. Over the years, Jing Haipeng's position has changed several times, but he has never forgotten that he is an astronaut.

In order to realize his dream for the fourth time, in the past 7 years, Jing Haipeng has not delayed training, hardly slept before 12 o'clock at night, and hardly rested on weekends. 600 push-ups, 600 sit-ups, and thousands of jumps became his daily standard; He knows more than 70 manuals and thousands of instructions... He is nearly sixty years old, but Jing Haipeng's physical fitness and flying skills are still excellent.

In June 2022, Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu and Gui Haichao formed the Shenzhou 6 flight crew to carry out the mission and served as the commander for the third time.

The Shenzhou 2 crew is a new combination, consisting for the first time of three types of astronauts: space pilots, space flight engineers and payload experts. With two teammates who are 20 years younger than him and have no flight experience or experience in the space environment, Jing Haipeng feels a great responsibility. He often said to two teammates: "It's okay, don't be nervous, there's me in the sky." ”

After more than a year of getting along and training day and night, Jing Haipeng and his two young teammates are also mentors and friends, and they have a very tacit understanding. With one expression, movement and look, they can understand each other and unite like a family. "1+1+1=1", this is also the goal set by Jing Haipeng for the crew.

This time, the "Shenzhou" will be launched again to run to the "Heavenly Palace", and Jing Haipeng firmly believes that the spring of Chinese space science has arrived. "At that time, please invite the majority of scientific researchers to hold teacups, drink hot tea, and watch us do experiments with appreciative eyes, and heaven and earth will enjoy flying, share achievements, share joy, and share happiness." So said the aerospace veteran. (End)
