Only Stina Kammerlind, Jonatan Fotsjö and Mikaela Andersson were present at the school when it was time for group division of the JA companies at the school. The three friends became a group and started their company Collect to Recycle.

"We've known each other for three years now and knew each other's qualities, and you could tell that we worked pretty well as a group already," says Mikaela.

The product that has led to several awards in JA is a trash can with a deposit instead of people throwing cans and bottles in a bin that is only for combustible materials.

"We wanted to design something that could lead to something much bigger. Something that would help both the climate as well as people, says Stina.

Sold the product to municipalities in the county

At the regional UF fair earlier this spring, the group of friends won the award for Best Product of the Year. In addition, they were named Socially Sustainable JA Company of the Year and Ecologically Sustainable JA Company of the Year. But it didn't stop there.

At the Swedish Championships in Young Enterprise, the Jönköping students took home the award for Ecologically Sustainable JA Company of the Year at the Swedish Championship for Young Entrepreneurs and came second in Product of the Year.

Now they have already sold their product to several customers. Including Habo, Jönköping and Nässjö municipalities.

Listen to the young entrepreneurs talk about what they will do with the company after graduation in the clip above.
