Turkey's election authority chief Ahmet Yenar said the results of Sunday's second round of Sunday's presidential election would be available sooner than the first-round results.

The head of the election authority added that results were expected faster because the election was between only two candidates, although he did not specify a specific time.

Yenar explained that the voting process has been unhindered so far.

In the first round of voting on May 14, the preliminary results of the parliamentary and presidential elections were released, which took place simultaneously around midnight on the same day, while in the current round, the elections are limited to the run-off for the presidential elections and to two candidates.

Turkish voters continue the voting process in the second round of the presidential election that will decide the country's next president.

Polling stations across Turkey opened their doors at 5 a.m. local time (<> GMT), and the voting process continues until <> pm today in all Turkish states and at border crossings and airports.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a candidate for the People's Alliance, and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu are competing in this second round.

The candidate who receives the majority of votes will win the post of President of the Republic, knowing that Turkey is organizing the second round for the first time in its modern history after any of the candidates failed to obtain (50% + one vote) in the first round.
