The Basque Police are investigating the alleged murder of a woman whose body was found this afternoon in an aparthotel in Vitoria. The Ertzaintza has not provided data on the victim while initiating an investigation "with all open hypotheses", including the alleged search for a companion. The mayor of Vitoria Gorka Urtaran has shown on social networks his dismay and the "rejection of any type of violence and more those suffered by women."

The Basque Police keeps cordoned off the accesses to the aparthotel located on Gasteiz Avenue in the capital of Alava where the body of a woman has been found. The first hypotheses place the death of the victim between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

The police device also includes the search for an alleged companion, although the Ertzaintza does not clarify this hypothesis that some witnesses maintain. The possible murder has been known during the celebration of an intense election day in which, for the first time in history, five candidates head the lists of the parties to the City Council of Vitoria.

In addition, this death has been known only twelve days after Lourdes del Hoyo was killed by a shot at point-blank range with a hunting shotgun in Orio (Guipúzcoa) by her former partner Alberto Casado. The killer took his own life using the same weapon.
