World leaders have congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a second term after a decisive historic round of presidential elections.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won a new and final constitutional term of 5 years after obtaining 52.87% of the votes in the presidential run-off, while his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received 47.13%, after 99% of the votes were counted, according to preliminary results.

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani congratulated the Turkish president on his victory in the presidential election.

Sheikh Tamim said in a tweet, "My dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, congratulations to you for winning, and I wish you success in your new term, and to achieve the progress and prosperity that the brotherly Turkish people aspire to, and the strong relations of our two countries further development and growth."

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune also sent a congratulatory message to Erdogan, in which he said, "It is with great pleasure, on the occasion of the renewal of confidence in your honorable person by the brotherly Turkish people, to address to Your Excellency, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Algerian people, my warmest congratulations and sincere blessings."

In turn, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh congratulated President Erdogan on his victory in the elections, saying, "We are confident that this victory will be an element of unification for the Turkish people because Turkey's unity and renaissance is an essential and key support for ending the Israeli occupation, liberating Jerusalem, the capital of our state, and the right of return for refugees."

Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), also congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a second term, praised the civilized position of the Turkish people and pointed to the aspiration for new years in support of the Palestinian cause.

The head of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, said in a tweet, "I congratulate my brother, His Excellency the President, on winning a new presidential term. This victory came as a renewal of confidence from the Turkish people in the successful projects and policy of President Erdogan, which placed his country in the ranks of developed countries."

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud congratulated his Turkish counterpart on his re-election as president.

Sheikh Mahmud said in a Turkish-language tweet on his Twitter account, "Congratulations brother and friend President Erdogan."

Sudan's Sovereignty Council President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said he congratulated Erdogan on winning a new term.

The Iranian presidency announced that President Ebrahim Raisi congratulates Erdogan on his re-election as president of Turkey and considers this a renewal of the confidence of the Turkish people in him.

"Our relations with Turkey in the next phase will continue based on good neighborliness and common interests," the Iranian president said.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also congratulated President Erdogan on his historic re-election as Turkey's president, saying Erdogan is a pillar of the Muslim oppressors and a living voice for their rights.

In Europe, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he congratulated Erdogan on his "well-deserved victory" in the election.

Malta's Foreign Minister George Wella said he warmly congratulated Erdogan on the "important victory" in Turkey's election.
