He said this during a speech to the participants of a national rally in support of the government of the country.

According to Vučić, the Kosovo authorities were specifically waiting for the day when a significant number of men from the north of the republic would leave for Belgrade in order to seize municipal buildings.

"We will hold a meeting of the National Security Council and talk about what will happen in Kosovo and Metohija," TASS quoted the Serbian leader as saying.

Vučić had previously brought the Serbian army to a state of maximum combat readiness due to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, provoked by Pristina's unilateral steps.

Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vučević confirmed that the country's army had urgently advanced to the administrative border.

In a clash with the police of the self-proclaimed republic in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, ten people received minor injuries due to the use of stun grenades, tear gas and batons.
