The number of Turks abroad who cast their votes in the run-off for the presidential elections reached one million and 912 thousand and 30 voters, according to the Anadolu Agency quoted Turkey's High Election Commission on Friday evening.

This number includes expatriate votes at Turkish diplomatic missions abroad - where voting took place between May 20 and 24 - and Turkish votes at border crossings where voting continues until 17:00 (14:00 GMT) on Sunday, when elections are held inside Turkey.

This toll exceeds the number of votes abroad in the first round of the elections, which amounted to one million and 839 thousand and 470 voters, including about 148 thousand who cast their votes at border crossings from airports and crossings.

Turkish presidential and parliamentary elections were held on May 14, where the candidate of the People's Alliance, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the candidate of the opposition People's Alliance, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and the candidate of the Ancestral Alliance, Sinan Ogan, competed for the presidency.

The High Election Board announced a run-off between Erdogan and Kılıçdaroğlu on May 28, as no candidate received more than 50% of the vote.

Erdogan received 49.51% of the vote, while Kılıçdaroğlu received 44.88%, and Sinan Ogan 5.17%, according to the final results announced by the commission.
