Since mid-April, more than 30 searchlights have been stolen in the Uppsala area. The Volvo V70 and XC70 car models are the target, according to police.
– As I understand it, it is only these models that have been affected, so it is very targeted, says Pelle Vamstad, press spokesperson at the police region center.
What is it that attracts with these particular models?
"We don't know, because we haven't arrested any perpetrator yet. But they have probably figured out that it is quite easy to change the headlights on these cars, which means that it is also quite quick to steal them," says Pelle Vamstad.
Initially, the police mostly saw that the thefts were carried out at night.
"But now in May, it has, a few times, also happened during the day.
