The divisions Psychiatric care for the deaf and hard of hearing, Elderly psychiatric clinic and outpatient care and Psychiatry clinic fatigue syndrome have, as SVT previously reported, been threatened with closure - but this will not be the case.

The decision was made during Friday's board meeting after the Social Democrats and Moderates made a joint proposal to change the plans for the closure of the affected psych wards.

Departments remain – but moved

But the decision does not mean that the departments will remain in their current form, the plan is that they will be moved and coordinated with other clinics.

– Coordination of premises and administration will be carried out to reduce costs. The employees closest to the patients are safeguarded in the difficult priorities that are now taking place, says Cecilia Dalman Eek, Chairman of the Board.

The closure of the departments was estimated to generate savings of approximately SEK 20 million. Exactly how much that saving is now reduced is unclear.
