Infection situation
The infection situation is currently under control. Sick and directly exposed horses from the affected operation have been removed from the facility, the authority said in a press release.
The horse clinic is currently closed for the intake of horses. Horses on the holding are under observation and are not allowed to leave the area. The isolation will be lifted when the danger of infection is over.
Fixed zones
Fixed zones will be established for the various activities in the area, in order to maintain separation for continued infection control. In this way, the horse clinic can stay open and visitors can move safely within the clinic zone without any contact with horses in other zones.
Horses and ponies that participated in competitions at the arena last week are not considered to have been exposed to the risk of infection, as the competitions were kept separate from affected activities, SVA states in the press release.
