Vladimir Putin proposed to hold five years of creative entrepreneurial work in the country. The president put forward such an initiative on Friday, May 26, during a dialogue with members of the public organization "Business Russia". The meeting in the Kremlin was timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Entrepreneurship.

"I propose today to discuss another initiative - to announce the fifth anniversary of creative entrepreneurial work in Russia. And to fill it not with some official or quasi-official protocol events, but with specific, substantive work," the head of state said.

He explained that we are talking about improving the business and investment climate, increasing the efficiency and modernization of economic sectors, the issue of personnel and vocational education, as well as the development of new formats of public-private partnership, interaction with regions and municipalities.

Speaking about improving the business climate, Putin noted that the close interaction of the business community and the executive branch in Russia helps to move in this direction.

"It was with the participation of the business community that at one time we began not point-by-point, but systematically, frontally reduce the administrative burden on business, introduced an assessment of the impact of regulations on the work of companies and organizations, reduced the number of inspections, simplified reporting and submission of other mandatory information," the president said.

He expressed confidence that the situation with the business climate in Russia will continue to improve, relying primarily on the opinion of entrepreneurs.

"A favorable competitive, business climate is not created by appeals or declarations, feedback from the business community is very important here. It is necessary, of course, to build on real problems, identify, pose them and consistently solve them," the president stressed.

"The capital that is received here should work for the country"

The President has repeatedly spoken about the contribution of Russian business to strengthening the country's economy and its future. In his address to the Federal Assembly in February 2023, Putin said that the Russian Federation had overcome the risks in the economy resulting from the imposition of Western sanctions, in particular thanks to entrepreneurs.

"Both at the state level and in business, decisions were made as quickly as possible. I would like to note that private initiative, small and medium-sized businesses played a huge role here – this should not be forgotten," the head of state said.

He noted that Russia managed to avoid excessive administrative regulation and skew of the economy towards the state.

In addition, in his message, the President stated that freedom of entrepreneurship is the most important element of economic sovereignty. As the president explained, private business, against the backdrop of external attempts to contain Russia, has proved that it knows how to adapt to a rapidly changing conjuncture - to ensure economic growth in difficult conditions.

"Therefore, every business initiative aimed at benefiting the country should receive support," Putin said.

The President stressed that Russian entrepreneurs should understand that their sources of well-being and future should be "only here, in their native country, in Russia."

"Then we will really create a strong, self-sufficient economy that does not close itself off from the world, but uses all its competitive advantages. Russian capital, the money that is received here, should work for the country, for its national development," Putin said.

The President expressed confidence that Russian society and the state will definitely support entrepreneurs who invest in the Russian Federation.

"Launch new projects, earn money, invest in Russia, invest in enterprises and jobs, help schools and universities, science and healthcare, culture and sports. This is how you will increase your capital, and earn recognition, gratitude of people for a generation to come," the head of state concluded.
