After a woman was found dead in the Veingen area in Laholm municipality in March, the police opened a preliminary investigation into murder. A man was arrested but then released.
– There is no reason to assume that the deceased was killed by any intentional force or equivalent. It is an overall assessment both through autopsy results and other findings, says pre-trial investigator Eva Lotta Swahn.
Why did you investigate the case as murder?
"If you find someone who is deceased from unclear circumstances and you may find certain signs, it is better to be careful from the beginning so that you do not miss a murder," says Eva Lotta Swahn.
