Since she got engaged to Iñigo Onieva, in September 2022, the life of Tamara Falcó (41) could be summed up in a single word: a whirlwind. First, an infidelity caused him to break off his courtship. He assured that he would not return to his ex. But a Christmas miracle occurred, and in January, they resumed their journey to the altar. One that, until the beginning of this month, was going from strength to strength... But, last week, the firm Sophie et Voilà decided to stop the making of its wedding dress.

Falcó lived hours of despair. But, soon the world smiled on him again. According to numerous sources, the aristocrat received almost 50 proposals from different designers. However, the Marchioness decided to opt for a dress made by the American Wes Gordon, the creative director of Carolina Herrera. A close friend of her mother, with whom she has already forged a relationship. In fact, last year Tamara was in his office, where he dreamed of putting on one of his mythical suits to say "I do".

The first time Tamara wore a CH creation was in April 2014. The chosen costume? A dress, sleeveless, with a houndstooth print. A very ad hoc look for the sober personality that Tamara then represented. A 32-year-old girl who aspired to be a designer. What's more, this photo was taken a year after Falcó took a summer course at the well-known Istituto Marangoni and finished a master's degree in fashion and merchandising at the University of Navarra.

At that time, Tamara Falcó was presented as a very discreet and very familiar young woman. In fact, his 33rd birthday was celebrated intimately, with very few friends and only a few family members. Like his siblings Julio José and Ana Boyer. Despite this, the press was already very interested in Isabel's daughter. The reasons? Its traditionalism and its pro-monarchy ideology. And it is that in June 2014, Falcó organized a dinner with people "under 40" in order to "record that young people are related to the monarchy and Felipe VI", who had not yet ascended to the throne.

"Just as the supporters of the republic go out every day to claim what they want, we also have the right to start claiming what we want," Tamara confessed at the time. On the other hand, Falcó was already used to talking about his interest in Catholicism. In 2014 he joined a campaign that aimed to defend Christians in Iraq and only a year before he decided to make a spiritual retreat in the Order of St. Michael the Archangel.

After wearing her first Carolina Herrera -at least, in public-, Tamara became a loyal follower of the brand. For example, in 2019, the Marchioness arrived at LOS40 Music Awards in a sequined wraparound dress, which made her shine all night. Also, in 2020, Falcó landed at the San Sebastian Film Festival with a set of two pieces, signed by CH, which stood out for the intense red color and the youthful aura it gave off.

During the last nine years, Tamara Falcó has worn at least 10 different Carolina Herrera looks. But the Marchioness and the firm did not close a professional agreement until 2022, when the socialite traveled to New York to attend the designer's show, in addition to visiting the atelier with her mother. In the second chapter of The Marchioness (she was already dating Onieva) Tamara is shown seeing wedding dresses. And although she was excited, Isabel was not amused.

"Don't scare me. Don't be silly. You're still at turkey age," Preysler told her, to which Tamara replied, "The one who's going to be scared is Iñigo when he sees this. It's like being psychopathic watching dressed before you ask me," he said. But the sister of Enrique Iglesias never thought that this would be a premonition: today she is about to go through the altar and, when she does, it will be with a Carolina Herrera. Something that has her floating above the clouds. "I'm very happy," she told Europa Press on Tuesday, after the first test of the dress.

This is how the relationship with CH began

When Julio Iglesias began the internationalization of his career, his then wife Isabel Preysler used to accompany him to Latin America and the US, where he began to interact with great characters. Among them, actress Ursula Andress, socialite Cornelia Guest, singer Charles Aznavour and Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera, who used to attend events with the singer of Soy un truhán, soy un señor. Even Carolina attended the artist's 40th birthday, in September 1983, in New York.

Preysler and Iglesias separated in 1978... Although the Filipino continued to move in the same circle and, according to the newspaper library, she maintained certain friendships, such as that of Carolina Herrera, with whom she has met again in numerous events during the last years. For example, at the Mango Awards, in 2012, and at the party at which Preysler confirmed his courtship with Vargas Llosa, in 2015, so it is not surprising that Tamara has grown up admiring the designer, of whom she has dressed on several occasions.
