After the wolf attack in Brismene outside Falköping earlier this week, the risk of new attacks on livestock in the area increases, according to the County Administrative Board. But when it comes to farmers' demands for culling, she answers.

"We have domestic legislation and also EU legislation that states that Sweden is responsible for preserving wolves in a viable population. And how many there are is currently being investigated by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. But it's not just a matter of choosing it ourselves, it's a mission we have to preserve wolves in Sweden," says Nelly Grönberg, predator officer at the County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland.

Eight territories and 50 wolves in the county

According to the County Administrative Board, there are now eight territories, and about 50 wolves in Västra Götaland.
