"I hope we can see more wind power in southern Sweden because that's where it's needed. This is something that is needed for people to be able to pay their electricity bills.

Tvinnesheda wind farm, southern Sweden's largest wind farm with 47 wind turbines, was inaugurated on Thursday.

"This will supply Kronoberg County with more than 30 percent of the energy consumed down here. A welcome addition in a region where there is a shortage of energy but where they also consume a lot because we have a large industry that needs green energy in the transition we are facing, says Peter Zachrisson, CEO of SR Energy.

Peter Zachrisson says that the climate benefit from these wind turbines corresponds to the emissions from almost 300,000 cars annually.

The green transition requires sacrifices

Peter Zachrisson has respect and understanding for the local residents who now live next door with 47 new wind turbines. But he also says that the major societal transition with green electricity means change that affects everyone.

– I can understand the question that you do not want anything next to you, but we are facing perhaps the most difficult challenge of our lives and that is to cope with the climate crisis. To manage it and create a transition that is fair, we need to build power and it will affect someone.
