Putin noted that he would be glad to see African leaders in St. Petersburg.

On March 13, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced that 37 African countries would take part in the Russia-Africa conference.

Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said that the role of African countries is increasing in the global economy.
