Japan flew fighter jets on Thursday after detecting two Russian reconnaissance jets near its shores.Japan flew fighter jets on Thursday after detecting two Russian reconnaissance planes near its coast, one in the Pacific Ocean and the other in the Sea of Japan, the Japanese General Staff said in a brief statement.
This incident, which is not the first of its kind, comes a few days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky came to the G7 summit in Hiroshima (western Japan), during which all members of the group reaffirmed their support for Kiev in the face of the Russian invasion.
