The alarm came just after 16 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Units from several emergency services are working to extinguish the fire, which they estimate is an area of about 100 by 100 meters.

"We work our way around the outer edges where we knock down the worst flames," says Kenneth Söderberg, head of operations at the rescue service.

Later in the afternoon, helicopter assistance was requested from MSB to assist the work of extinguishing the fire from above.

"We have people working on the fire, but as soon as we extinguish our pipes, it flares up again. As long as this is the case, I feel that we do not really have control over the fire, says Kenneth Söderberg.

There is currently no risk of the fire reaching adjacent properties or buildings.
