It is noted that we are talking about an article by economist Niels Bildt "Ukraine can learn from Charles XII."
According to Bildt, Ukraine can take as a basis the tactics of the Swedish king in the battle of Narva against Russia.
"The author, however, completely missed two subsequent events of the same period: in 1704, the Russian army took Narva, and already in 1709, the troops of Charles XII suffered a crushing defeat near Poltava," the Russian diplomatic mission said in a commentary.
The embassy stressed that the Swedish army won the battle, but lost the war.
Earlier, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström said that the supply of F-16 fighters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine would lead to an escalation of the Ukrainian conflict.
