The Electoral Board of Madrid Area has accepted this Monday that the canvas installed by Podemos in Madrid in which a photo of the brother of Isabel Díaz Ayuso appears, although it has required the purple party to install on the front of the poster some element or logo "that allows to identify in an evident way the ownership of the same".

In a resolution to which EFE has had access, the Board partially estimates the claim presented by the PP, which demanded the removal of said canvas, in which the face of the brother of Isabel Díaz Ayuso is seen next to a phrase of the former leader of the PP Pablo Casado in which he questioned the participation of Tomás Díaz Ayuso, in a contract for the supply of masks.

Specifically, the banner includes a question posed by Casado in an interview on the Cope chain on February 18, 2022, in the middle of the internal war with Ayuso: "The question is whether it is understandable that on April 1, when 700 people died in Spain, you can contract with your sister and receive 286,000 euros of profit for selling masks. "

The Podemos canvas is designed as if it were a tweet sent from the Popular Party account, which includes Casado's phrase and the photo of Tomás Díaz Ayuso. And underneath, already on a background of the purple color characteristic of the formation, you can read: "You have to throw them out!"

The Electoral Board agrees with the argument of the PP that the canvas "can mislead voters as to the ownership" of the poster, since the Podemos logo is only visible on the sides, and therefore claim that another identifying sign is placed on the front.

In addition, the PP cited other alleged irregularities, particularly the unauthorized use of the image of Tomás Díaz Ayuso and the violation of his constitutional right to his own image.

But the Electoral Board indicates that this matter "is not the competence" of theirs, and suggests going "to the appropriate procedural channels."
