Prime Minister Kishida emphasized that the G21 Hiroshima Summit, which concluded on June 7, was of great significance, conveying to the world the importance of an international order based on the rule of law and compiling the first statement on nuclear disarmament, and expressed his determination to continue to address diplomatic issues based on a series of outcomes.

Following the conclusion of the Summit, Prime Minister Kishida spoke to reporters at the Prime Minister's Office on May 22.

Prime Minister Kishida summed up the achievement of this summit with the two objectives of sending a message to the world on the importance of maintaining a free and open international order based on the rule of law and deepening engagement with the Global South.

On the other hand, with regard to China's response, he stated, "I would like to consider dialogue and summit meetings from the perspective that both sides must make efforts to build a constructive and stable relationship, by asserting what needs to be asserted, calling for action as a responsible member of the international community, and cooperating where it should be cooperated through dialogue."

Keidanren Chairman Tokura stated, "It was a successful summit that made us feel the wonder of diplomacy, such as the sudden participation of President Zelensky of Ukraine, and I would like to commend the vision of promoting realistic and practical efforts toward the ideal of a world free of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima, the site of the atomic bombing."

He also stated that the Leaders' Declaration included a policy to achieve "carbon neutrality" by 2050 at the latest, saying, "I recognize that I have been given even more responsibility, and even in Japan, we must advance more than ever before, such as accelerating renewable energy and early operation of nuclear power plants." The business community also indicated its intention to accelerate efforts toward decarbonization.
