The communion banquet for eight families ended this Saturday afternoon in a celebratory disaster in the restaurant of the Santo Domingo Social Club in Algete (Madrid). The diners, about 400, arrived at 13.00 to the premises and the hours went by and the dishes were empty. Nobody served them anything and some had to find a solution on their own, despite paying up to 5,000 euros in advance for agape. The company had left them stranded and without food.

Several agents of the Civil Guard and the Police moved to the restaurant after the call of the relatives to see that the contracted catering did not appear. Those affected have reported the facts to the Civil Guard and have filed a claim administratively in the premises for an alleged scam, since the reservations were made and paid several months in advance. They say that some of the waiters ran away from the premises when the agents of the Armed Institute arrived.

A service manager denied that it was a scam. He says that they were overwhelmed by the workload, that they were overwhelmed and that they blame everything on poor organization. But they did not indicate whether they will return the money to those affected.

Each of the affected families would have paid in advance between 2,000 and 5,000 euros for the menu, depending on the one chosen by each one. Several of them made the last payment last Friday and say that the company insinuated that they could pay it in black.

Some of the relatives confirm that they made the reservation with "a certain Reyes" who did not respond to their calls, since on Sunday "he had his brother's wedding," according to a waiter.

The parents of one of the children celebrating communion indicated that they had been preparing the day with the restaurant for months: food, cocktails and final animation. Since the guests arrived at the premises they already saw that something was wrong, since they were not allowed to pass to the rooms. After the insistence, they were able to enter, but the tables were not set up, they did not have dishes and everything was dirty because on Saturday morning a high school graduation had been held there.

"We arrived at the restaurant about one o'clock, and at four thirty in the afternoon they still had not served us anything," said one of the communion guests, who said that some parents came into the kitchen in search of food. "Around 17:00 p.m. they started serving us olives," said another affected mother. According to witnesses, some guests have been given chips and croquettes. Some of the families have gone to a nearby supermarket and bought sausages and salads. Another family also went to a fast food restaurant to serve something to their guests.

From the OCU families are advised to claim administratively and, otherwise, criminally to request the return of the money paid and even request the corresponding moral damages for the non-celebration of the contracted event.
