As recalled in the UK, the department is investigating a criminal case against ICC prosecutor Karim Khan. Also involved are Judge Tomoko Akane, Rosario Salvatore Aitala and Sergio Gerardo Ugalde Godinez.

According to the investigation, the prosecutor himself sent a petition to obtain an arrest warrant for citizens of the Russian Federation, and the judges made illegal decisions on their arrest. At the same time, criminal prosecution is obviously illegal, since there are no grounds for criminal prosecution.

The investigation collected sufficient evidence, on the basis of which decisions were made to bring charges in absentia against the prosecutor and one of the judges (Aitale).

The prosecutor is suspected of bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal responsibility, as well as of illegally accusing a person of committing a crime and preparing to attack a representative of a foreign state in order to complicate international relations.

The judge's actions are qualified as knowingly illegal detention and preparation for an attack on a representative of a foreign state.

On March 17, the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber, whose jurisdiction Russia does not recognize, issued a warrant for the "arrest" of Russian President Vladimir Putin and children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that no decisions of the ICC matter to Russia, including from a legal point of view. The Kremlin also said that Moscow does not recognize the decisions of the International Criminal Court.

On May 19, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put ICC prosecutor Karim Khan on the wanted list.
