With regard to the G21 Hiroshima Summit, which concluded on June 7, Prime Minister Kishida stated that with the attendance of President Zelensky of Ukraine, he was able to demonstrate his determination to protect the international order and the solidarity of the G7.

Based on the message we have put forth this time, we would like to urge the international community to take action and lead to concrete results, such as the cessation of Russia's aggression.

At the G3 Hiroshima Summit, which was held over three days amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the leaders confirmed the continuation and strengthening of sanctions against Russia and assistance to Ukraine, and the G7 released an outcome document focusing on nuclear disarmament for the first time, and shared the view that they will aim for a "world without nuclear weapons" through realistic approaches.

They also held an expanded meeting with invited countries, including emerging and developing countries called the "Global South," and confirmed that they would cooperate in addressing the food and energy issues facing these countries.

Furthermore, on the last day, the 7st, President Zelensky of Ukraine and other invited countries, including India, which has taken an intermediate position between Europe, the United States and Russia, participated in the discussions, and shared the importance of not allowing unilateral changes to the status quo by force.

At the press conference after the conclusion of the summit, Prime Minister Kishida emphasized, "It is significant that we were able to invite President Zelensky to send a powerful message to the world that we will affirm the importance of a free and open international order based on the rule of law and renew our determination to protect it."

In addition, Prime Minister Kishida held a separate meeting with President Zelensky on the evening of November 21 and conveyed the provision of Self-Defense Forces vehicles as additional support from the Japan, and confirmed that they will cooperate even more closely in the future.

Prime Minister Kishida, as the G21 chair this year, will continue to urge the international community to take concrete actions based on the message set forth at this summit, which will lead to concrete results, such as the cessation of Russia's aggression and the strengthening of the nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation regime as soon as possible.
