1000 starts in four days, 500 horses competing and a total of almost 300 riders from all over the country. This is what it looks like during the riding competitions at Sörsjön outside Värnamo, which are arranged by Värnamobygdens Ryttarförening. The club goes against the grain when it comes to attracting participants – and believes that the course itself is one of the reasons.
– We have participants all the way from Denmark and the competition is growing every year, says Jojo Jillheden, competition director.
The highlight of the four days is Sunday's qualifier for Falsterbo Horse Show.
– It probably attracts some participants as well, says Alva Blommesköld, participant at Värnamobygdens Ryttarförening.
