For several years, there have been disputes about what should happen to the industrial area Snösätra, where there are many painted graffiti walls. Problems with sometimes messiness with illegal parties and crime have led to differences of opinion about keeping the meeting place. But this year, the City of Stockholm is moving forward with plans to create a cultural park in Snösätra.

"We have now taken another step in the creation of a cultural actor-driven cultural park in Snösätra by establishing a lease agreement between the development office and Kulturkvarter Snösätra and a cooperation agreement between the cultural quarter Snösätra and Enskede-Årsta-Vantör. Through temporary building permits, the cultural park is currently being developed, says Kersti Tagesson, project manager at the district administration.

Kulturkvarter Snösätra will be allowed to rent in the area for one year to begin with.

During the festival, which lasts for four days, about 30 walls in Snösätra will be painted.
