• 28-M The candidate of Unidas Podemos in Valencia will denounce 'El Hormiguero' for mocking that she is deaf and lesbian

The general director of Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, Jesús Martín Blanco, announced on Friday his intention to report to the prosecutor of the Coordinating Chamber of the Specialized Services for People with Disabilities and the Elderly the comments regarding sexual orientation and disability that were poured into the Antena 3 program El Hormiguero regarding the candidate of Unidas-Podem to the City Council of Valencia, Pilar Lima.

In statements to Servimedia, Martín Blanco explained his intention that the Prosecutor's Office "investigate whether these words may constitute an act of discrimination." He also announced on social networks that his General Directorate will open an ex officio file to determine if the statements of the comedian Miguel Lago and the laughter of the presenter, Pablo Motos, violate the rights of Lima.

In Wednesday's talk show on Wednesday, Motos asked about the requirements that politicians must meet to be candidates in an election and be accepted. "Deaf!" shouted Lago, to the scandalous laughter of Motos.

Lago explained that Irene Montero introduced Pilar Lima by saying that this "is our best candidate, deaf and bollera," words that Lago equated to insults, with the intention of mocking. "Deaf ..., bollera ..., put to miss, that they say 'here a lame'...".

On Twitter, Martín Blanco said that they will not remain "impassive in the face of practices that stigmatize and ridicule people with disabilities," and that is why "we are going to denounce it" before the Prosecutor's Office, for violating the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
