The National Police investigates whether Marco G., the man arrested last Wednesday in Torremolinos (Malaga) for allegedly stabbing his partner, Paula, could be linked to the disappearance of another young woman of Albanian nationality with whom he would also have maintained a sentimental relationship in the past, as indicated this Friday by the delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernandez.

The circumstances of the violent death of Paula, 28, and the history of gender violence of her alleged murderer – a man of Italian nationality whose data appear in the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGen) for several complaints filed by two of his previous partners and that required, even the adoption of precautionary restraining measures in the case of one of them - have set off all the alarms regarding the disappearance in 2014 of a former girlfriend of the detainee, Sibora Gagani.

The young woman, of Albanian nationality, moved with her partner to this tourist municipality on the Costa del Sol in 2011, but in 2014 she broke her relationship with him and her family, who reside in Italy, says she has not heard from her since July 7 of that same year and that she does not know where she is currently.

Although police sources have confirmed that the investigation into Paula's death is still open and that there is also a complaint for the investigation of Sibora's address and whereabouts, they have avoided pronouncing on a possible connection between the two cases.

However, after the arrest of Marco G. as the alleged perpetrator of Paula's sexist crime, Sibora's relatives cannot help but suspect that the Italian, with whom the young woman left Italy eleven years ago, has had something to do with her disappearance, as explained to the newspaper El Español.

While Sibora Gagani, who would now be 31 years old, lived in Torremolinos she called herself Simona Faraone and used false Italian documentation since her residence permit in Spain had expired, a key issue when it came to being able to travel and leave.

Upon learning of the murder of Paula allegedly at the hands of her daughter's also boyfriend, Sibora's family has gone to the police station this Thursday to be interested and offer their collaboration in this regard.

This tragic episode of sexist violence took place minutes before noon on Wednesday. Neighbors of the victim and his alleged murderer, alerted by the woman's screams, called 061 to report that there was a fight in a house in the neighborhood of La Carihuela, that a woman was injured and needed assistance. But when police officers and health workers arrived, they could do nothing but certify the young woman's death.

The deceased and her alleged aggressor were not registered as a couple in the VioGen System, they have confirmed to EFE from the environment of the Government Subdelegation, but she would have already suffered mistreatment from another couple in the past and had filed a complaint so she also appears as a victim in the file.
