It was in January that Råneå bathhouse had to close its doors after legionella bacteria were found in the bathhouse's men's showers. After operating staff flushed pipes and toilets with 75 degrees hot water, it was found that the bacteria remained in the bathhouse and the shutdown was prolonged.

Threatened with closure

After the failed attempt, it looked as if the bathhouse would have to close, as the building had already reached and exceeded its technical lifespan. But the Culture and Recreation Committee nevertheless decided to try another measure.

"Missed it very much"

Replacements of various pipes in the building had a successful result and the samples have shown good water values since then. Now it is clear that the bathhouse will open on May 22 and the news is received with joy by several Råneå residents.

– It feels great, we have missed it very much, says Lena Sundvall.
