Beijing, May 5 (Reporter Sun Zifa Chen Hang) The China Association for Science and Technology (CAS) and the Beijing Municipal Government jointly held a press conference in Beijing on May 17 to announce that the 5 China Science Fiction Convention, co-hosted by both parties, will be included in the Zhongguancun Forum for the first time, and will be held in Shougang Park, Shijingshan District, Beijing, from May 17 to June 2023, with the theme of "Scientific Dreams, Creating the Future".
The China Science Fiction Convention was incorporated into the Zhongguancun Forum and became a parallel forum of the national science and technology forum, which fully reflects the important role of science fiction in promoting scientific and technological innovation, will help the integrated development and mutual promotion of science fiction and science and technology, and also provide a broad space for Chinese science fiction to generate more innovative vitality. At the same time, with the help of the international platform of the Zhongguancun Forum, the China Science Fiction Convention will have more opportunities to communicate and learn from the international science and technology community, integrate more cutting-edge scientific and technological concepts and innovative scientific and technological elements into Chinese science fiction, and also open a window for the world to know and understand Chinese science fiction.
The 2023 China Science Fiction Convention includes a total of 40 activities in four aspects, including the opening ceremony, thematic forums, science fiction exhibitions, and science fiction activities, of which the opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on the evening of May 5, in order to fully create an immersive experience atmosphere, with Shougang Park as the core, Beijing will simultaneously set up branch venues to hold Beijing Science Fiction Carnival and other supporting activities. In addition, the conference will also arrange 29 thematic forums to discuss industry development hotspots, exchange key common technologies, and form industrial agglomeration effects.
This science fiction conference will integrate the characteristics of "meta-universe" and "Beijing West Science Fiction City" into a series of activities such as the opening ceremony, thematic forums, science fiction exhibitions, science fiction film exhibitions, tide fantasy adventure season, new product launches, science fiction night and science fiction technology award ceremony, etc., to gain insight into the development and future development and scene application of "meta-universe" related technologies. Compared with previous editions, this year's Science Fiction Convention will pay more attention to interactive experience in professional communication, exhibition display, content design, etc., and present the latest cutting-edge technology and science fiction elements in an immersive experience.

Initiated by the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Science Fiction Convention has been held for six consecutive sessions since 2016.
