In April 2022, Chera Khader Segestam from Gothenburg was diagnosed with aggressive blood cancer, Acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

She immediately decided that she would be open on social media about life as a young person with cancer. She wanted to spread knowledge about her illness and shared her journey on social media with thousands of followers.

Had one last birthday party

In January, she and her husband threw a big birthday party for friends and family – to celebrate their last birthday. This was portrayed in the mini-documentary "Livet's last party" on SVT Play.

"In October, I found out that I don't have many weeks left to live. But I'm not going to accept that, because I'm going to celebrate my birthday and I'm looking forward to it," said Chera Khader Segestam in the documentary.

After Chera's death, SVT has been in contact with her husband, Albin Segestam, who also participates in the documentary.
