For ten years, Bredsands Camping was run by a company – but earlier this year it became clear that Enköping municipality will take over operations after the company chose to leave last winter.
"We now have our leisure bank out here, where you can borrow life jackets and toys. And we have built a new outdoor gym, says Kristina Eriksson (KD), chairman of the experience committee.
Competition with industry
At Thursday's inauguration, she and Peter Book (M), chairman of the municipal board, cut the blue and yellow ribbon. The latter does not think that camping is something that Enköping municipality should really be responsible for.
Is there not a risk that you will outcompete local businesses?
– Not directly, camping is not a competitive business – it would be the restaurant in such cases, and there we have a private company that will handle the food out here, says Peter Book (M).
