In a striking scene in the Canadian city of Montreal, a police officer approached a Jewish rabbi to ask him why he and other Jews participated in a demonstration in solidarity with Palestine on the 75th anniversary of the Nakba.

Last Sunday, the streets of Montreal, the largest city in the province of Quebec, witnessed a march to commemorate the Nakba organized by several movements, including the "Montreal 4 Palestine" movement.

The movement posted on its Instagram account the scene documenting the conversation that took place during the march between the policeman and Rabbi Feldman of the Jewish movement "Naturei Karta" against Zionism and the Israeli occupation.

The policeman asked the rabbi: "We see you always standing with the Palestinians, we just want to know what your position is. What message are you trying to convey?"

The video documented Rabbi Feldman's response: "In short, we are against the occupation of Palestine. We are demonstrating here alongside pro-Palestinian people to show our support for the Palestinian cause, because we strongly believe that what is being done in Palestine is wrong."

"As Jews, we affirm that it is embarrassing for us that all this is committed in our name, I oppose this being committed in my name and in the name of my religion, and according to Judaism everything that is committed is a violation of it," the rabbi added.

The rabbi concluded his response by thanking the policemen for their cooperation in preserving the right of the demonstrators to express their opinion and support the Palestinian cause, and in turn, the policeman responded by saying, "Thank you sir, this is a good explanation, and it helped me understand the situation, nice protest, enjoy your day."
