They were initially described by the police as young people from Sätra in Gävle who were curious about the criminal life and who were generally rowdy in Sätra center. This quickly turned into them selling drugs and carrying out robberies in groups.

The first documented handling of weapons within the grouping was in autumn 2021. Police then came across a picture of a member of the G15 posing with a sharply loaded weapon. The person was 14 years old at the time.

Consists of teenage boys

Today, G15 has a leading position in the criminal environment in Gävle. They are organized with leaders, suspected of being perpetrators of serious violent crimes, transporters of weapons and drugs, and errand boys. And they consist almost exclusively of underage teenage boys.

Convicted of serious violent crimes

The most influential members have been convicted of aggravated assault, drug offences and attempted murder.

The ages of the gang members that SVT Gävleborg has mapped range between 15 and 19 years. Two former G15 leaders, who have been serving longer prison sentences since last year, are now 21 years old. A 22-year-old person who is currently charged with a serious weapons offense can also be linked to the group.

Recruited as a child

Many have been members of the grouping since they were children.

The youngest of those charged after the fatal shooting in Sätra – who was 15 years old at the time of the murder – can be seen in incident reports already a year and a half earlier. He was on site when a police car was surrounded by G15 in connection with an intervention in Sätra.

One of the 17-year-olds charged after the fatal shooting in Sätra was involved in planning an attempted murder in Forsbacka in 2021.

Today, the trial of six of the members suspected of the murder in Sätra begins. The trial will be conducted in the security room of the Attunda District Court.
