Kuwait's Ministry of Information mourned artist Abdul Karim Abdul Qader, who passed away on Friday after suffering from illness at the age of 82.

The deceased artist is considered one of the pioneers of the musical art movement in the State of Kuwait, as he left an immortal artistic legacy in the history of Kuwaiti song and a great balance of love and appreciation in the hearts of his audience during a journey of artistic giving that lasted more than 60 years.

Abdelkader was nicknamed the wounded voice in 1988 after the wide fame of his song "Ajr al-Sawt".

Abdul Karim Abdul Qadir was born in 1941, in the locality of Al-Zuhairiya in the city of Zubair, and worked as an employee in the Ministry of Interior in the State of Kuwait, then went on to work in the music department of the Ministry of Information until the age of retirement.

Abdul Qadir launched in the world of singing with a religious song in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, entitled "Shawqi sought to the city" composed by the artist Youssef Al-Muhanna, followed by successful songs such as "Be unjust", lyrics by Muhammad Mahrous and Abdul Rahman Al-Baijan, and "Secret of the Night Ya Qamarna", lyrics by Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Al-Otaibi and music by Ahmed Baqer, and Khalik Maaya in Rai" and "Ah Ya Al-Asmar Ya Zain".

The late Kuwaiti artist began through religious muwashahat, and after a great career of artistic success, Abdul Qadir collaborated with a number of prominent poets including Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Prince Fahd bin Khalid, Prince Saud bin Bandar, and Prince Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Faisal. He has also released 60 albums during a 60-year career.

Sadness in the artistic community

A large number of artists mourned the artist Abdul Karim Abdul Qader, where the artist Nawal Al-Kuwaiti tweeted through her official account on Twitter, "We belong to God and to Him we return, may God have mercy on the voice of the homeland of the day and the voice of our hearts Abdul Karim Abdul Qader, Kuwait lost a great person today and a landmark of its landmarks, sincere condolences to his family and to all of us, there is no power and no power except in God Almighty. Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, tweeted, "May God have mercy on the great artist Abdul Karim Abdul Qadir (...) Today we lose one of the symbols of Gulf and Arab songs. May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Khaled."

Kuwaiti journalist Mai Al-Eidan wrote, "We belong to God and to Him we return. The great artist Abdel Karim Abdel Qader moved to the mercy of God after a struggle with illness (...) Do not skimp on him with supplication, for supplication is the livelihood of the deceased."

Suffering with the disease

8 months ago, the artist Abdul Karim Abdul Qader was exposed to a health ailment, during which he performed heart surgery in a hospital in the UAE, to appear then in a video clip from inside his hospital room to reassure his audience of his health condition, but he suffered another health crisis that caused his death on Friday at Jaber Hospital in Kuwait.
